Congrats Mamas!

January 21, 2013

I attended five births in 2012 and one already so far in 2013. They have all been fantastic experiences. Each birth I witness is different and special. One truth I’ve come away with is that women’s bodies are powerful and capable. Women are made to grow babies and give birth. One midwife recently gave me a  pin that says  ”Birth is normal,” and I wholeheartedly agree. Congratulations to all the new mamas! Thank you for letting me be a part of your births.photo

Happy Birthday Roman!

July 14, 2012

My first clients had their baby this month. Mom went into labor early due to high blood pressure but even with induction managed to labor naturally and have the birth she desired. She had a midwife-assisted delivery with the Midwives at Mount Auburn and had wonderful things to say about them and the hospital, where she felt supported and well cared for. She and baby are healthy and happy, and Roman is breastfeeding like a champion. Welcome to the world, Roman. We are full of joy at your arrival.
